INTRODUCTION

Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain peak of Europe with height 5642m/18513ft. The geographic structure of this mountain is formed by enormous volcano separating Europe and Asia. It is located in Russia near the border of Georgia. Normally south route is popular for the successful summit of this peak. This is most common route, because most of the climbers choose this route and quite developed by infrastructure like hotels, hut accommodation etc. The climbing route is easy but long way to cross. Basic mountaineering skills are needed. However there are several other routes as well to reach the summit. The high camp of the Elbrus Mountain is widely covered with snow, and there are 22 glaciers around the mount Elbrus. 


At least 5 nights need to be stay in high camp (above base camp) for the successful summit. Our guide will lead and teaches you on each step for climbing techniques. It takes 10-12 hr from summit of Elbrus to Base Camp. There are different summit of Elbrus like East Summit (5621m), West (5642m) and West (5642m). The south routes takes to the West Summit.

DAY 01:Arrival at Mineral Vody Airport & Transfer to the Hotel (2,300m) 

DAY 02: Acclimatization phase; hike up to cable car station Cheget-3 (3000 m) on Mt. Cheget or Terskol Peak (3150 m) 

DAY 03: Drive to the Azau Glade (2350m) – Cable car station and reach to Hut by Cable Car (3800m – 4100m) 

DAY 04:Acclimatization hiking up to "Skaly Pastukhova" ("Pastukhov's rocks") (4700m) 

DAY 05: Day of relaxation (rest day in Refuge/Hut) 

DAY 06: Summit day

DAY 07: Reserve Day (Attempt Elbrus if previous day was failure)

DAY 08: Drive to Mineralnye Vody for the flight to Home Land (Final Departure)


DAY 01:Arrival at Mineral Vody Airport & Transfer to the Hotel (2,300m) 

Welcome at Mineral Vody Airport and transfer to Hotel. We will drive you to the Terskol Town by private bus. A short briefing will offer by your expedition leader with the presence of all team members. Also HST Admin will offer a welcome dinner. 


DAY 02: Acclimatization phase; hike up to cable car station Cheget-3 (3000 m) on Mt. Cheget or Terskol Peak (3150 m) 

Acclimatization period, hike up to cable car station Cheget-3 (3100m) or Terskol Peak (3150m() depending on your physical condition. It helps for acclimatization. Overnight at the same hotel at Baksn


DAY 03: Drive to the Azau Glade (2350m) – Cable car station and reach to Hut by Cable Car (3800m – 4100m) 

Cable car is available to reach the hut. So, you can leave your necessaries stuff at Bksn hotel. The max elevation of the day is 3800m-4100m. We carry some pack lunch, carry all mountain equipment and go for the acclimatization hike up to 4300m. 


DAY 04:Acclimatization hiking up to "Skaly Pastukhova" ("Pastukhov's rocks") (4700m) 

Altitude sickness is very common in high mountains so we focus for better acclimatization and it is important too. So, we begin our acclimatization hike from early in the morning. Hiking up to Pastukhov’s rocks and return back to the hut (Refuge). 


DAY 05: Day of relaxation (rest day in Refuge/Hut) 

This is very important as a acclimatization prospective and rest. In this day we prepare for the summit push and final gear check. Next day is summit. 

DAY 06: Summit day

Ascending Mt. Elbrus 5,642m and back to Hut, Start early in the morning. It takes 5-6 hr for the summit. Overnight at hut. We carry some pack lunch and water. 


DAY 07: Reserve Day (Attempt Elbrus if previous day was failure) 


DAY 08: Drive to Mineralnye Vody for the flight to Home Land (Final Departure)


Paper Work: Invitation letter and papers for Russian Visa. 

Government Permit: Permit and its fee to climb Elbrus and national park permit 

Ground Transportation: Mineral Vody Airport Pick up and Drop and all land transportation as mentioned in itinerary 

Accommodation: 3-star category hotel in Baksan and Cheget- sharing twin bed room and Barrel Hut Accommodation in Elbrus. 

Cable Car: Tickets and arrangement of Elbrus Cable car as mentioned in itinerary 

Meals: Three curse of meal will provided in each day with hot water, tea and coffee. Map

Guide: A professional climbing guide, multiple time Elbrus, Everest and K2 summiteer 

Salary and wages: Guide’s salary, equipment and allowance including foods and accommodation. 

Climbing Equipment: All necessary group climbing gears and equipment (including ropes). 

Medical: Medical kit and equipment 

Certificate: Climbing Certificate after Climbing Elbrus summit


How much mountaineering experience do I need in order to climb Mt. Elbrus? 


Elbrus is a glacier climb of easy to moderate difficulty. Prior climbing experience is not required for this trip but if you have some trekking or trekking peak climbing experiences, then would much better. Weather is a big factor in Elbrus Expedition, but your guide will lead you properly. 


Do you need assistant guide?

Yes, you may need an assistant guide, depends on your climbing experiences. Also we do provide various guides during the summit day. 


What is the food like on the trip? 

We will enjoy meals at fine restaurants and hotels in Moscow. We will eat simple but nutritious and filling (lots of potatoes, great bread, soups, small portions of meat) meals at our hotel in the Caucasus. We will take a Russian cook when we move to the hut on Elbrus. 

  • Choose a professional and experiences climbing guide
  • Should have proper climbing gears, including down jacket, trekking trouser, crampons, ice axe, rope, windproof, hat, trekking poles and sun protections etc
  • Before going Elbrus Peak Expedition we suggest you to climb at least 2/3 small peak as a training experience like Mount Blanc
  • Tell your Climbing guide if you feel uncomfortable while getting high altitude, you may sick by altitude problem
  • It's better to bring some chocolate and dry foods yourself
  • Respect local people and their cultural values, try not to give any negative message on that
  • Always be creative and ask anything to the local people yourself or through your guide to know about the mysterious Himalayan culture and nature
  • Manage your personal rubbish yourself or through your guide, do not throw any plastic item in an open environment
  • Always follow the rules and regulation of your personal guide
