Himlung Himal standing with height of 7126 m as a popular climbing peak in Himalaya. Since last 10 years, it is getting popular for climbing destination. It is lies to the northeast of Annapurna Range. The height and the geography of this mountain offer best acclimatization and climbing training before going any eight thousand mountains. However, it is considering as an easier mountain in Nepalese Himalaya.

We as a professional climbing company organize Himlung Expedition in each autumn season. It has more than 90% success rate. It is believed that Himlung is a non-technical mountain peak. Those who are wishing to have climbing experiences with very short time period (two weeks) and non-Technical Mountain; Himlung is only one best option. The trip is designed for those who also looking for best acclimatization and basic climbing ideas. You can choose this mountain peak for the first climbing expedition in your life. It will teach you on how-to walk-in mountain, how the climbing expedition functions and how to use climbing devices. Three camps are established above base camp at heights of 5450m (Camp1), 6000m (Camp2) and 6300m (Camp3) respectively. One acclimatization rotation offers you to climb up to camp2 and in next phase you will summit. The total expedition period will be 14-18 days maximum.

Accommodation and logistics during trekking period of the Himlung expedition will manage in Teahouses and local hotels. The total 3 days drive and 3 days trek is required to reach base camp of Himlung, which is standing at height of 4900m. The base camp will be well managed by all prospective like kitchen, dining, sleeping tent, toilet and shower. Although being easy as compared to other peaks, climbing to Himlung Peak require some physical fitness. From the summit of Himlung you can explore specular mountain peaks including Annapurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri etc.

Day 01-02: Arrival in Kathmandu and Trip preparation

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar

Day 04: Drive from Besisahar to Koto (2600m)

Day 01: Trek from Koto to Singenge (3230 m)

Day 02: Trek from Singenge to Kyang (4100 m)

Day 03: Trek from Kyang to Phu (4580 m)

Day 04: Acclimatization day

Day 05: Trek from Phu to Himlung Himal Base Camp (4842 m)

Day 06-16: Climbing Himlung Himal (7126 m) and descend back to base camp

Day 17: Trek back to Phu village (4580 m)

Day 18: Trek from Phu to Meta (3560 m)

Day 19: Trek from Meta to Koto (2600m)

Day 20: Drive back to Besisahar  (Or Trek back via Throng La pass)

Day 21: Drive back to Kathmandu

  • Choose a professional and experiences climbing guide
  • Should have proper climbing gears, including down jacket, trekking trouser, crampons, ice axe, rope, windproof, hat, trekking poles and sun protections etc
  • Before going Himlung Himal Expedition we suggest you to climb at least 2/3 small peak as a training experience like Mount Blanc
  • Tell your Climbing guide if you feel uncomfortable while getting high altitude, you may sick by altitude problem
  • It's better to bring some chocolate and dry foods yourself
  • Respect local people and their cultural values, try not to give any negative message on that
  • Always be creative and ask anything to the local people yourself or through your guide to know about the mysterious Himalayan culture and nature
  • Manage your personal rubbish yourself or through your guide, do not throw any plastic item in an open environment
  • Always follow the rules and regulation of your personal guide
