Chitwan National park is known as the heart of Nepal which is located in the Terai region of Nawalparasi, Parsa, Chitwan and Makwanpur with its covering area 932sq. km. It was established in 1973 and listed in World Heritage site in 1984 by the UNESCO. From March to June the temperature increase above to 43 °c and due to hot humid day’s monsoon starts and last until September. With average temperature in October gives an enjoyable climate. Previously, this area used to be the favorite place for hunting of ruling class. It is said that there were about 500 single horned rhino, which is found only in Nepal. But due to hunting of those animals today they are in the list of rare animals. Chitwan National Park is home of Bengal Tiger, Leopards, Bengal foxes, gaurs, rhino, White throated kingfisher, paradise flycatcher, Bengal pittas and other species.
\With lots of fauna flola are also found here including Sal trees, beleric, rosewood, axlewood, elephant apple, grey downy balsam and creepers. The Chitwan National Park has got high diversity of ecosystem, plain lands with fertile soils. It has got the incredible natural beauty. Due to heavy rainfall in Mansoon the grassland are high and green which means the tress and food crops found here are taller than found in other place. It is also one of the popular tourist destinations in Nepal.
There is place in Chitwan named as Souraha, which is also the entrance of Chitwan National Park. Sauraha is well-developed city for tourists. It has lots of well-managed hotel, restaurants and lode. There is the special group known as Tharu, they show their cultural performance and give pleasure to the guests. In order to reach Chitwan National Park from the capital city Kathmandu by flight then catch the local flight to Bharatpur, Chitwan then go to Sauraha through local bus.
